over the past more than ten years, inspired by his father Late Shri Pukhrajji Bhandari, has conceived and initiated projects in the field of basic and vocational education that are now ready with strong wings to take another leap forward and build additional landmarks over the next decade in order to be able to not only meet the future challenges but also shape the course of the destiny of the people and the region where these are operating in. He believes true empowerment is achieved only through education. All these education endeavours in Sirohi Dist. Rajasthan are leading convergence of beauty and innocence of the village life and brains with modern urban knowledge.
Vidyaghar is a unique Single Teacher School Concept to create a base for education for all children, free of cost and prepare them to go to formal school for obtaining secondary education. Because their hamlets are far and remote, villagers tend to be apathetic to send small children to schools depriving them of opportunity to grow even before they begin to live. Thus young innocent children who could be future engineers, doctors, soldiers and technicians, develop lack of interest towards education.
Currently, Vidyaghar is successfully running 50 such single-teacher schools, each having student enrolment of about 25 in tiny tribal villages/hamlets; each settlement having about 30-50 houses.
Vidyaghar’s current total annual students intake is about 1,200. Over the next 10-15 years, the number of beneficiary students is likely to grow much bigger as Vidyaghar covers 100 tribal villages in Sirohi and Udaipur region to prepare toddlers for formal school learning and make a meaningful difference in their life to become good students with bright future so that when they grow the entire region grows. Vidyaghar students, upon completion of secondary school (10th standard), are offered free ITI courses at VKK-ITI.
